Jessica first discovered yoga at the age of 16 and didn’t come to the realization that the extreme calm and sense of relaxed peace were due to the postures and guided mediations that she had just participated in. Constantly coming back to the practice, she finally became a dedicated yogini upon graduating university- truly delving into what the lifestyle and system of beliefs have to offer.
A strong at home practice was developed while milking goats and making caramel amongst the grandiose nature of Montana and more primarily while living abroad in Argentina and finding contentment and self-exploration on many different levels. Teaching started in the form of wanting to share with those around her something she loved so much and others wanting to dive into something that brought about so many obvious benefits. Many a weekend was spent amongst friends and fellow adventurers doing yoga in the park, on the beach, or while taking breaks working on an eco-village! She ended up coming back to the States to explore a unique opportunity in combining many of her biggest passions- horses, yoga, nature, and overall well-being- in the form of Cowgirl Yoga. She now works amongst family and friends to help run these wonderful summer retreats full of all levels of yoginis and visitors from every walk of life.
Jessica feels that any form of communication is her calling, whether it be mind-body, cross-cultural, or simply daily interactions. She fulfills this drive by teaching Spanish and horseback riding, nannying, helping to run a non-profit working with MSU and the Latino community to cultivate understanding and diversity in the Gallatin Valley, doing energy work and counseling, and by teaching yoga of course! She is currently undergoing her 200hr. accredited teacher training through YogaMotion in Bozeman and is fully embracing the opportunity provided to delve deeper into all aspects of what is yoga.
Her aim is to open students up to the many different, inter-connected systems of heath (mind, body, spirit) available to each and every person. She aims to help others look inward and enjoy what they find there, coming to know themselves through a deeper understanding and communication with the physical body, the emotions and energy bodies, the workings of the mind, the intellect, breaking through ego, and getting to know one’s true SELF. Life is an exploration full of highs and lows, triumphs and defeats; Jessica intends to help others go with this flow rather than against it and to be able to achieve a constant state of joy that comes from living life as an understanding and compassionate witness to all that is going on around and within us. Jessica believes that through yoga and all these different systems of learning and healing, one can find and maintain the capacity to love themselves completely, thus bringing new awarenesses and joy to everyday life and all that is around you. She is eternally grateful to all those who have shared with her and hopes to have the chance to share with you someday.
Available for private instruction, energy/chakra work, and guided meditations for healing (at Community Yoga or in home).
